ICT Experts Share How to Utilize ICT Devices to Improve Quality of Life

【15 November 2012 Hong Kong】 Organised by Hong Kong Information Technology Federation (HKITF), the annual event of Information and Technology sector, theHong Kong ICT Awards (HKICTA) 2013: Best Lifestyle Award,is officially launchedon Tuesday (13 Nov) in Ocean Terminal, Harbour City. Legislative Councilor(Information Technology), Honourable Charles MOK,Chairman of Judging Panel of HKICTA 2013: Best Lifestyle Award,Dr. William LO, JP,and renowned social networking expert, Ms. Erica YUEN joined a lively and interactive discussion, to share their experience on how to utilize different kinds of ICT devices and services to improve their quality of life.

It is an honour to have Dr. William LO, JP, the Chairman of Judging Panel of HKICTA 2013: Best Lifestyle Award;HonourableCharles MOK, Legislative Councilor (Information Technology), Ms. Judy LEUNG, the Chairperson of Organising Committee of HKICTA 2013: Best Lifestyle Award andMr. Francis FONG, President of Hong Kong Information Technology Federation to officiate in the launching ceremony.

Mr. Francis FONG, President of Hong Kong Information Technology Federation, speaking in the launching ceremony, “Hong Kong has world class ICT infrastructure, a comprehensive and high quality professional services, and numerous innovative ICT professionals,not only provide the vital driving force for local economic development and enhance its’ competitiveness, but also allow our fellow metropolitans enjoy a high quality of life with full of convenience freehand.”

Dr. William LO, JP, the Chairman of Judging Panel of HKICTA 2013: Best Lifestyle Award, said, “The Best Lifestyle Award represents the highest honour of ICT industry; the Award made a lot of contributions to Hong Kong ICT sector. We greatly appreciated the efforts and support made by industry practitioners to discoverICT talents, as well as facilitate in research and development of new products. We’re looking forward to the surprises brought to us by this year’s entries.”

The Chairperson of Organising Committee of HKICTA 2013: Best Lifestyle Award, Ms. Judy LEUNG said in the launching ceremony, “Stepping into the 5th year, the Best Lifestyle Award has successfully discovered a number of innovative lifestyle solutions. In view of this, we speciallyadd a new stream: “Student Category of Social, Communications and Media” to boost students’ zealousness in creating more ICT solutions. The Committee is expected to seemore high quality applicationsfrom ICT professionals and students.”

The organiser held the “Smart Use of ICT to Create High Quality of Life” discussion panel immediately after the ceremony, Legislative Councilor (Information Technology)Honourable Charles MOK, Chairman of Judging Panel of HKICTA 2013: Best Lifestyle Award, Dr. William LO, JP, and renowned columnist and social networking expert,Ms. Erica YUEN, shared their experiences onhow to utilize different kinds of ICT devices to sort out different problems, alleviate the burden of their lives, and help them to enjoy their life and improve their quality of life.

The application of HKICTA2013: BLS Award opens from 9 November 2012, and will close on 11 January 2013.

Since the establishment in 2006, the Hong Kong ICT Awards have established its prestigious and premium status in the region to recognise, promote and commend the excellent achievements of Hong Kong ICT professionals and organisations. The Awards comprise ten categories; Best Lifestyle Award is one of them. The Awards aim to attract the excellent achievements to which Hong Kong ICT professionals and organisations contribute, as well as to encourage local practitioners to develop innovative and creative solutions, which uplift the image of Hong Kong ICT sectors, both locally and internationally.
